Ideal for hunting, outdoor sports and commercial uses. The laser rangefinder can measure distances by emitting pulses of invisible, eye-safe infrared light towards the target and instantly calculate the distance by measuring the time each pulse takes to travel the distance from the rangefinder to the target and back. The distance measurement capability of rangefinders is determined by the distance and size of the target. Measurements can also be influenced by the color, type of surface, shape and size of the target. The NSLRF501 model features a scanning feature that allows you to take multiple measurements with a single scan.
